Course Objectives:
- To equip nurses with advanced nursing skills and knowledge in Palliative care.
- To empower nurses to assess patients’ needs and their symptoms comprehensively.
- To cultivate effective communication skills to facilitate compassionate and empathetic
interactions with patients and their families. - To enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively address complex
situations and ethical dilemmas that may arise in the provision of palliative care.
Eligibility criteria:
- Registered Nurses practising in Palliative Care Units.
Course Duration:
- The course will span a duration of six months, consisting of a total of 15 virtual sessions.
- The course is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 18 July 2023 at 6:30 p.m. (IST)
- The virtual sessions will be held twice/thrice a month between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The link for the exact schedule is below.
- The course design allows participants to have sufficient time to allocate for self-study, reflections, and course assignments.
Delivery Method:
- The interactive course will be delivered via Zoom.
- The blended course format combines synchronous virtual sessions with asynchronous learning objectives.
- The synchronous virtual sessions aim to provide real-time interaction between expert faculty and participants to allow for discussions and collaborative exercises.
- The Asynchronous learning activities will allow for self-paced study, provide access to online resources, and submit assignments.
Important Guidelines:
- Attendance is mandatory (with video) for all sessions. Those who fail to switch on their camera will be marked absent from the session.
- Candidates with only 100% attendance in all sessions will be eligible to receive completion certificates.
- Sessions will be interactive, and candidates must therefore dedicate time exclusively to attend the sessions.
- Candidates are requested to attend the sessions using their laptops/desktops. Please try to avoid attending the sessions using phones or tablets, as it will cause distraction.
- Candidates are requested to login 5 minutes before the start of the session.
